What assistance does the Center offer ?

• intellectual and academic assessments for parents who wish to see if giftedness is present in their children's strong areas, or, alternatively, if learning difficulties exist in their youngsters weak subjects.

• one-on-one accelerated tutoring in strong areas, and time-efficient remedial tutoring in needy subjects.

• individualized instruction in organizational and study skills, covering goal-setting, time management, listening, note-taking, memorizing, and/or test-taking in needed areas.

• advocacy alongside parents, so that necessary assessment-supported recommendations for acceleration, enrichment, remediation, and course modifications can be implemented for individual pupils in local schools.

Is the Center effective in helping gifted pupils?

The Center has produced gains of multiple grade levels with gifted students in both its remedial and accelerated tutoring. Further, the Center has advocated successfully for many gifted youth in local schools who need full-grade acceleration, single-subject acceleration, grade-level enrichment, and remediation.

Is the Center responsive to parents of the gifted?

The Center is open from noon to 9:30 p.m. weekdays, and is located within 15 minutes of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as many Metro suburbs. Its teachers, by training and by spirit, enjoy speaking at length with parents of gifted students. Together they design assessment, programming, and advocacy which will meet needs of both parents and pupils!
